What determines a dental quote
Four things: the number of units (each implant, crown or veneer is priced individually), the materials chosen (a Straumann implant costs more than a Nuvo; E-max more than zirconium), the groundwork your mouth needs (extractions, root treatments, gum therapy, bone grafting), and the number of visits your biology requires (implant plans usually need two). That is the whole formula — there is no fifth, hidden variable.
This is also why no honest clinic can give you a final dental price from a phone call. Until the team has seen your photos and a panoramic X-ray, any number is a guess — and guesses at this stage tend to grow later. Our sequence is fixed: review first, then a written, itemised quote that is binding.
Why Albania costs less — without the myths
The price difference is economics, not standards. Clinic rents, laboratory wages, staff salaries and administrative overheads in Tirana are a fraction of those in London, Milan or Munich — while the implant systems, ceramics and equipment are bought on the same international market from the same manufacturers. A zirconium crown made of Ivoclar-Vita ceramic is the same material object in both cities; what differs is the cost of the building, the payroll and the paperwork around it.
We deliberately do not claim that dentistry elsewhere is worse — excellent dentistry exists everywhere, and so does poor dentistry. What we claim, and can document, is this: premium materials, every unit itemised in your quote, and a written plan you can compare line by line with any quote from home.
What can change a quote — and what cannot
A quote based on your X-rays holds unless your clinical examination in Tirana reveals something imaging could not show — which is uncommon and explained on the spot, before any work begins, with your consent required for any change. What never happens: silent additions discovered at checkout. If an item is not in your written plan or explicitly agreed during your visit, you do not pay for it.
