How to read before & after photos honestly
Dental galleries are marketing surfaces, so learn to read them defensively — including ours. Good signs: consistent lighting and angle between the before and the after; lips and skin tone that match (same person, same session style); teeth that look plausible for the patient’s age; and gums that look healthy at the margins. Warning signs anywhere you look: afters shot with studio lighting the before never got, one-shade-fits-all whiteness, and galleries that never show a molar or a gumline.
Also read what photos cannot show: how the bite feels, how speech adapted, whether the gums stayed healthy at year three. That is why we publish a small, real gallery rather than an endless scroll — and why your consultation includes cases relevant to your situation, not just the most photogenic ones.
